House update

We HAVE to be the luckiest people in the world...

Not only did we sell our house fast, for our asking price, we found a very reasonably-priced home in a great location to buy.

The buyers of our current house were kind enough to let us rent the house from them for about 40 days while we bought a new one. Unfortunately, that's not turning out to be long enough. The house we're buying is a short sale (pre-approved price) and the bank required a 75 day escrow (just because they are difficult to work with!) So, we were in the predicament of having to be out of this house Jan 21, but new house will probably not close escrow (and thus become ours) until mid Feb.

However, all you have to do is ask... I asked my realtor to ask the sellers if we could move into the new house, and rent it from the current owners until it closes escrow. And they're allowing it! So, next Monday, Jan 17 we will be renting our new house, slowly moving there over the course of the week. We'll pay rent until escrow closes.

Yay!! If not for these two rental deals, we'd have had to move twice! Move two 2-year olds twice. Move two cats and a dog twice. And move all our furniture twice! I'm so grateful we don't have to deal with that! :-)
