We had a particularly good day today so I thought I'd record it. It's Veteran's Day so I was home with the kids. Daddy had to work. I'm currently working four mornings a week with Thursdays at home.
We had no plans when I woke up this morning so I sent a message to a friend to see if she wanted to meet up at a park. She did! So J, V and I met up with Corinne, Ryan and Julia at Overlook park. It was a cold morning but when we got to the park the sun warmed everything up (including us)! We even met a new friend - another twin mom! We had a fun time playing and then the kids and I headed home for lunch and nap time.
The kids didn't nap but I let them play. I got a few things done and then relaxed a little.
After nap the kids wanted to carve one of the pumpkins we bought at Halloween. A little late but... whatever. They had previously painted them when grandma was visiting. We carved one and decided to put it on the porch lit up for daddy when he came home! Daddy was appropriately scared and surprised when he came home to find it!
While I made dinner the kids traced letters and their names on some templates I printed from the internet. Then Veronica wrote her own name for the first time! Before dinner we also took a short walk of a few blocks in the almost dark. The kids had their flashlights and thought that was fun!
After dinner the kids took a short bath and went to bed tired! I'm tired too... :-) But happy we had such a good day. We are in a good place right now. Not too much fighting or behavior issues.
