Another "bad" day

My day started great...  worked after having five days off, feeling rested and excited to be back to work.  Worked my five hours, then picked up the kids from preschool.

We stopped at the library on the way home and that's when it started.  Veronica was tired and grumpy.  Fighting at the library.  Jackson knocked her down.  Crying because I wouldn't help them with the computer (because I said we weren't going to stay long and didn't have time to play on the computer.)

At home there was whining...  V wanted to swing but it was quiet time.  They went to separate rooms.  Veronica came out four times to ask me when quiet time was over!  Jackson came out once to ask as well saying the alarm clock had turned yellow (wake up time).  Turns out he had messed with the clock controls...

We decided to take a walk.  Pretty much everything put V into a tailspin of crying and whining.  Finally when she wouldn't stop asking to go down the hill when I said we were not going to, I had to threaten to take away her dessert if she didn't stop.  She didn't.  No dessert for V.  I got to suffer twice for that one - once when I told her she wouldn't get dessert later, and again after dinner when I reminded her!  Ugh.  Doesn't pay to follow through!  ;-)

Kids went to play at the neighbors while I made dinner.  When they came home I realized the neighbor had run over V's bike on his way out of the driveway because we had left her bike behind the truck!  Damn!  It might be fixable.

Then I overcooked the asparagus.  At the time it felt like one grumpy thing after another.  Woe is me!

In retrospect it is all very minor.  I put the kids to bed and hopefully it "takes!"  I'm ready to read for a few minutes then retire.  I'll try again tomorrow!

Oh yeah - forgot to mention - my email was hacked, didn't get email after noon today.  Had to change my password.  Boo.  Hope there are no lasting effects from that.

  1. is this a sign of things to come with girls and hormones? lol sure hope not for your sake. It was a good day if the kids weren't on the bike and hopefully there was no damage to the truck. It sure is hard though when you actually going through it :(
