Every once in a while I think of a tidbit that I want to record. So, here's a few:

Jackson especially has started touching my face when I'm putting him to sleep. Our routine is to wrap them in their sleep sack and then sway a little with them while humming a lullaby. Sometimes they will struggle a little and once or twice Jackson accidentally scratched me. Lately, though, he reaches softly for my face and caresses it! It's so touching... sometimes I get verklempt and can't hum!

Veronica smiles all the time! Sometimes after about 45 minutes of napping, she'll start fussing. So I'll go in the bedroom with the intent to help her fall back to sleep... using the techniques I've learned from the sleep books - "shh" her, don't pick her up, pat her, whisper to her, etc. And then I walk in there and she sees me and gets this GIANT smile on her face! And she's all excited to see me! How hard is it to not pick her up and hug her and squeeze her!? Sometimes I do... who needs sleep training!? :-)

A note from daddy... what a joy it is to walk in the door and have them look over at me and recognize me and smile! What a joy to watch them be happy and discover things! It's hard to care about anything else but them.
