Awesome birthday weekend!

It's only Friday night but my birthday weekend started yesterday and has been wonderful so far!

Thursday I took the day off and Dick took the kids to the nanny's house. :-) I was all alone for the day! Holy cow, it's been a long time since I've been alone in the house for a whole day! I ate breakfast, took a nice bike ride around the lake nearby. Saw a turtle there! Had a leisurely lunch, screwed around on the computer. I talked to my mom and sister on the phone (without interruption!) Then... I went to the mall! How quickly 2 hours can go by while shopping alone! I scoured the clearance racks and found a cute outfit and a pair of sexy (pink!) shoes. Then I made it home just in time to get picked up by daddy and the kids for a nice dinner out on San Diego bay! It was just lovely.

Today the kids and I went to a painting class (for kids) at one of the nearby children's museums. Then we went to McDonalds (!?$#) for lunch. Then back to the mall to get the pair of sandals I wanted but didn't buy yesterday. The kids and I took a nap when we got home (yes, even I took a nap!) Then we played around for a bit until daddy got home. My friend Andrea showed up to babysit and daddy and I headed out for our birthday date night! We went out for sushi and then daddy surprised me by taking me a play! It was a supernatural, Scottish comedy (does that sound odd?)

I got everything I asked for for my birthday - plants (cilantro, peppers, tomatoes, chives) and pepper spray for my early morning runs alone! I also got lots of well-wishes from wonderful family and friends!

Tomorrow, our whole family and Uncle Pete are going hiking with friends Pauline and Jim. Sunday we're heading to Chris and Judy's for a bbq (and maybe swim if the weather cooperates?) Monday, who knows! Maybe we'll be recuperating from such a busy weekend! We have lots of projects we can work on. But Dick has to work some so we may not get around to projects. Oh well!
