More bedtime antics

Here's a new one - the kids have been taking Jackson's mattress off his bed during naps/bedtime. Man, the things that happen in there after I close the door! Last night they not only took the mattress off, they started disassembling the bed springs! ugh.

Daddy is out of town, and they are really giving me a hard time tonight. Jackson has be RILED up... maybe he's feeling anxious because daddy left? I have been in their room three times (at least) since I put them to bed. And even when I went in there pissed off and showing it, Jackson was laughing. (That will really piss a person off!) He just barely escaped having no dessert tomorrow. But he did manage to get his TV time taken away for tomorrow. Finally I had to separate them. Veronica is in my bed. I hear noises so I think Jackson is doing something in his room... but at least his mouth is quiet. He may just be playing quietly. I'll go listen at the door in a minute.

The worst thing about putting one kid in my bed is that I can't go to bed yet! And I'm tired... I hope this isn't setting the stage for two days of frustration and a reactive mommy. Gotta get a handle on this before morning. Gotta figure out my strategy: firm but kind. Firm but kind. Thoughtful consequences and follow-through... I can do this!
