Our bedtime ritual got a little longer recently when we started adding "telling a story" to our two books! Today at nap I told the kids I wasn't going to tell them a story before nap but maybe after. Instead, Jackson offered to tell the story:
Once upon a time, there was a poo-poo-pie. The poo-poo-pie pooped in the poo-poo-pie. The end!
Then Veronica (actually her lovey Luli) decided to tell one too:
Once upon a time, I saw a kitty. Who saw a panda, who saw a turtle, who saw a donkey, who saw a monkey, who saw a dolphin. The end.
:-) Such fun to have the kids tell ME stories!

how cute is that. I remember when Maggie was about 2 and Olivia was an infant I asked her to read Olivia a story. She would mumble a few words then close the book. I said 'no, read Olivia a story'. This went on for a few minutes before she said 'mumble, mumble, the end!'. I laughed to hard, like I wasn't quite understanding that the story was OVER!
