Halloween seemed kind of anti-climatic since we've had the kids' costumes for over a month and they've worn them three times now for parties and such in the past week.
The best and most exciting thing for the kids though, of course, was the candy! This was J and V's first year trick or treating! They acted similarly as when they open gifts. Well, that was fun... let's get to the next house and do it again!
They were great about walking up on the porches themselves and yelling out, "trick or treat!" And they thought it was fun to say "Happy Halloween!"
We only went to about 10-15 houses. So the kids don't have too much candy! I've had trouble deciding how to handle the candy situation. I've been worried lately that they are eating too much candy and asking for it all the time. But I decided to let them eat their candy, under the theory that if it's "forbidden" they will want it even more! So yesterday Jackson probably ate two or three pieces at the neighbor's house before trick or treating. V had one. Then I let them both have two when we got home. I would have allowed more but it was late and I didn't want them up all night!
Today I forgot to tell our nanny that she could give some to the kids. So she didn't give them any. When they woke from nap I let them each have two candies. They didn't ask for more. And I'll probably let them have a few pieces after dinner.
At this rate, since they have so little, their candy will be gone in a few days!
I've been having trouble posting a comment lately :( they kids are adorable as usual and I think you're right on about the candy. It's Halloween and that = candy.
