We're planning to go camping for one night this coming weekend. To prepare we slept in the tent in our backyard this past Friday night! We weren't quite organized enough for a "campfire" or s'mores... but we did manage to get the tent up and sleep in it. And yes, we did actually sleep!
We didn't finish getting the tent set up until almost 9:00 pm. Then we bundled up the kids and all went in the tent to sleep. Daddy watched a movie on his phone for a while but I was tired enough to not mind going to bed at 9:30! The kids were way overdue for bedtime, so they were good and tired. I think Veronica and I stirred a little. And Dick said he didn't sleep that great. But Jackson seemed to sleep quite soundly, since he didn't bother to wake up when he needed to pee! Oops!
The kids have rarely slept anywhere except their own beds. They almost never sleep in the car, never fall asleep on the couch, never sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. So I was really surprised and pleased when they slept all night in the tent!
Camping "for real" next weekend should be a real blast! Not only is it fun to sleep in the tent (and now they're pros!), but they will have a blast exploring around our campsite, hiking and climbing up rocks, etc!
Hopefully we didn't all look really tired for our family photos the next day!
