Keeping busy

I may not have as ambitious a "to do" list as my cousin Wendy, but we're sure keeping busy this weekend!

Saturday we had our last swimming class. The babies both got great "report cards!" Then in the afternoon a couple we know came by with their 3 month old twin boys. We had a nice visit. I had to turn down an offer for dinner at another twin-parent friend's house... And I had to reschedule a nanny interview because these friends stayed past 5:00. But it was a really nice visit. I'm not sure how I found the energy but at about 8:00 after putting babies to bed and having dinner, I decided to clean the insides of both cars and wash the kitchen and laundry room floor... not sure what possessed me!

Tomorrow we are planning to take our first road trip with the babies. It's kinda my birthday celebration. :-) (Bday is Tuesday, I'll be 38!) We're going to drive out either to the desert or the mountains depending on the weather forecast. Either will be about an hour drive so maybe a perfect nap for babies. We'll have a little picnic and hike around a little with them. I'm excited to get them out into nature.

Monday I'm interviewing two new nannies (ours gave two weeks notice). And Dick is having some friends over to brew beer. We had to turn down another invitation to get together with some other friends this weekend too...

In the next three or four weeks we have:
- dinner with our twin friends who wanted to have us over tonight
- get together with other friends who wanted to see us this weekend
- friend in town from Georgia
- my sister and her family visiting for 8 days!
- date night while my sister is here
- babies 9 month well baby visit
- hmmm..... there must be more! Oh, maybe a "girl's hike" with some friends of mine

And just for my own sake, I need to schedule:
- haircut
- eye dr appt
- oil change
- sell/give away baby stuff
- dr appt for wrist tendonitis
- hey, maybe that's it...? I can't think of any other appointments I need to make. Cool.

We keep busy but I find time to loaf too... :-)
