So I picked him up and rocked/bounced him a little. He immediately started to fall asleep. He dropped his binky out of his mouth onto his chest and was doing this cute little sleepy smile... I rocked a few more minutes and then started to put him in the crib. I grabbed his binky from his chest and put the handle part in my mouth while I laid him down. As I was laying him down, he woke up a little and reached out and grabbed the binky from my mouth and put it in his! It was really sweet. I thought it was a nice mother's day present. Veronica has already given me one today too - she burped without me even having to ask (burp her). :-)
I feel really deeply lucky and happy today to have these two. I love them so much I don't know how to express it... it brings tears to my eyes often. Being a mother is about the best "mother's day present" you can get, isn't it?
Here a few photos from our swim lesson this morning. Both babies put their faces under water multiple times! (Ok, so it wasn't really voluntary... we "dunked" them... but they did great! They're learning to hold their breath, that's the point I guess! ;-) )
so sweet! they're getting so big! glad to hear sleep continues well for you. it's still a challenge in our house!
ReplyDeletehappy mother's day!!!!!!!!!!!
Adorable!! Glad you had a Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteI agree being a mother is the greatest gift of all. That's all I ever wanted, so now to be blessed with grandchildren is 'over the top' for me.... an added bonus.
