We had a fine time. The kids played in the kid area for a while. Then we shopped til they got cranky. Then we went to the food court for Sbarro pizza. We sat near a group of disabled young people who were just lounging and hanging out, with escorts. One of the young people, a young man, was staring at Jackson quite a bit. Jackson smiled at him a few times but didn't really pay him any mind after that. After we ate, I had my back to the kids for a second while I packed up our backpack. When I looked up, the kid who was staring at Jackson had come over and was trying to feed Jackson a piece of pizza that had fallen on the floor a while before then.
It's always strange to me after something weird like this happens to look back and analyze how I handled the situation. I'm such a calm person that I almost never react strongly to things like this. I really didn't do anything at first. The guy was feeding Jackson a piece of pizza. Jackson was not panicking and wasn't upset. Although, he wasn't opening his mouth either! He was just looking at the guy. And the guy wasn't shoving it in Jackson's mouth or anything, just trying to push it in gently. I think I came right up to them and just said, "I don't think he wants it" or something like that. Immediately, two of the group's escorts came up and took the boy away. They apologized and said he was only trying to put things back where they go.
No one was upset or traumatized. But afterward, I wonder to myself why I didn't grab the guy's arm and pull it away from Jackson? I know I'm a good mom and I protect my babies. I guess I just didn't feel threatened for some reason. Of course, it turned out fine.
On a lighter note, I had to take a picture with my cell phone of this ridiculous, giant painting/photo above Target. Clearly, having triplets is MUCH easier than having twins. I mean, this gal is not only beautiful and made up, wearing a DRESS!?, her triplets are stylish and happy too! :-) Ha, ha! I get a good laugh at this one every time I look at it!
notice that two out of three are also looking at the camera AT THE SAME TIME!!! I'm thinking cut and paste?! what do you think?
