Fun 4th of July

Guess I'm still recovering since it was three days ago! We had a great 4th - Dick and I did a 10k in the morning, then we came home and showered, got the kids, met up with Uncle Pete and walked to our seats for the neighborhood parade! It was... well... cute. Kind of long and lackluster compared to the big ones... but the kids seemed to enjoy it! They had some cool old cars, lots of kids, a fire engine, police cars and the Geico Gecko (sponsor!?) ;-)

After the parade we went to the party in the park, an ice cream social with bouncy houses, music, etc. We got some free Baskin Robbins ice cream. Then J and V wanted to go in the bouncy house. When we got closer V wanted me to come with her but it was too crowded so both of us decided not to go in. J wanted to try it but once he got in he got bumped a few times and Dick went in to save him! Oh well, that was a bust... We headed home and the kids napped while Dick, Uncle Pete and I watched a movie and recovered from a long, hot, busy morning! At 4:00 we headed to a neighbors for our block party!

Whew! It was a long and busy day!
