I rock the plumbing world!

Dick owes me $300 for my plumbing services - $200 for about an hour of labor, $100 for cleaning up as I went along and not leaving him a big mess!

Here's how this whole thing started... I was sitting on the couch talking to the CA Employment Office trying to figure out how to file our nanny taxes when I heard a strange beeping. It wasn't the microwave, the oven, the washer, dryer or refrigerator telling me the door is ajar. So I investigated and, dang, it WAS the washer! With an error code: F 02. Uh oh. After a bit of internet research, I had an idea of what needed to be done.

So, after the Chargers lost to the Broncos, at about 9:00 pm, with Dick as moral support, I took the front of the washer off. After 30 min of sopping up approximately three gallons of water, I was able to get the filter cover off. There was some gunk, but not that much. Dick suggested checking the inlet and sure enough, I could feel some fabric in there. With a pointy, curved thingie I was able to pull out a small piece of fleece that we use as a cloth diaper liner. Wah lah!

Moments later I put the washer back together and even mopped part of the floor to boot (had to, there was water all over)! Can you tell I'm proud of myself!? I love when we do things like that. I'm perfectly capable of doing these things myself but need Dick's moral support and assistance to motivate myself to actually do it. We've saved a lot of money over the years doing things like this ourselves. :-) [Patting myself on the back.]

  1. Good Job Jennifer!!!! I can usually figure stuff out and do it too, but if there is someone else to do the job I can easily defer to them. Our situation is usually we have two different ideas of how to do something with both getting the same results. One always defers to the other and the job is easily done. :) And believe me you do save LOTS over the years!!! I keep telling Roger that's why I need a large life insurance policy on him.... it's going to cost a fortune to hire someone to do all the work he does. GREAT JOB!!
