Our first family vacation (Part 1)

Wow, I can't believe it was almost three weeks ago that we left San Diego for our grand family tour of the midwest! We had quite an agenda, and we all did great - really enjoyed our time with family.

Our first stop was Gary, South Dakota where we visited with grandma and grandpa and Aunt Mary and Uncle Darren (and more family too!). We stayed for five days and enjoyed fall in the midwest. We did have some wind and rain, but we also had some nice days. The babies were very happy and comfortable with their extended family. They were a little clingy but not too bad at all. And they slept GREAT! I couldn't believe that in strange beds in a strange room, they went to bed like they were at home. We laid them down awake and walked out of the room - and for the most part, they went to sleep. We had a borrowed video monitor to watch them for when they didn't feel like sleeping. :-)

In South Dakota the babies got to meet some sheep. They played outside. They kicked a ball for the first time. They hung out in a hammock. But most importantly, they spent time with family just playing around the house.

Here are some pics.

  2. Jennifer you are so lucky to have been able to get this time away and what a great time of year. I bet grandma and grandpa were thrilled. I know we were thrilled to see everyone (well, except for Jackson).
