Jackson's physical prowess

Jackson is a BOY. He's always been a very physical baby. He loves to do physical things - he learned to crawl quickly and learned to walk quickly. Recently he learned how to climb into his jumperoo by himself. (Although he usually ends up with two legs down one hole!) (I think J and V are kind of old for jumperoos but we still have them because they are protecting our electronics from small hands (they are positioned in front of the TV and other stuff). And the kids had a resurgence of interest in them recently!)

Yesterday, Jackson put on a pair of my shoes - a pair of platform glides (that slip on). He got them on the right feet and walked all over the house in them!

I'm fearful of the day he starts pulling chairs up to things to climb on... the dining room table, the sideboard, kitchen counter, etc! (The instructor in our baby class has 7 year old twins. She told me when hers were little she walked in the kitchen once to find they had stacked a chair on the kitchen counter and were climbing up to reach the cookies or something! Ugh!)

Maybe his physical prowess is the reason Jackson is such a good napper (and sleeper in general). He will take a three hour nap if his sister would let him. Sometimes I can get her out of the bedroom without waking him. Often, though, she will wake him after 1.5 hours. Today he was so tired at naptime he didn't even want to eat lunch. He ate a bit, and then I got he and Veronica down from their booster chairs. While I was in the bedroom changing Veronica's diaper, Jackson was trying to climb in the crib to go to sleep! So we skipped our story and I put them right to bed. (They're not feeling very well.)

  1. love the video. He is so cute. Thinking of Olivia, I think you're on the lucky side. She takes her train over to the couch so she can stand on it to get on the couch (she just turned a year last month). She totally analyses everything. If something isn't doing what she wants she turns it over and looks how to make it work. Total engineer in the making lol
