It's funny how the kids have morphed regularly in the "tricks" and things they've learned to do. They used to wave all the time and they were learning to blow kisses. Now they do neither. Veronica used to clap all the time and loved patty-cake. Now she hardly ever claps. Jackson used to say, "boo boo boo" all the time and "uh oh." Now he hardly ever does.
Here's what they're doing now:
- Veronica especially says "ball" all the time. At the grocery store in the produce section she's constantly pointing out all the "balls!"
- Both kids like to play ball by either throwing the ball back and forth to you or, more likely, bringing the ball to you.
- Both kids are learning to eat with forks. Both are doing very well with their new place settings. They hardly ever throw them off the table. (Really.)
- They are "reading" less but talking a lot.
- We have a digital picture frame in the dining room which scrolls through pictures of all of the family but mostly the babies. Every picture that comes up Veronica says "da-ee," which we thought was daddy and doggy but it seems to be a name for everyone!
- Both kids enjoy brushing their teeth but won't really let us help. We're working on it!
- Veronica still loves textiles. She'll drag a cloth napkin or burp cloth around the house for hours longer than she'll play with anything else. She also likes to "help" fold laundry!
- Jackson has taken to throwing his head back when he's upset about something. It's not so bad if your head is not behind his at the time!
- Jackson still gets very excited at times and squeals!
- Both kids love to go up stairs. They're learning to go down too. (Backwards.)
- It's so awesome having them walk all over the place. It's so fun to just sit back and watch them toddle from room to room, playing, talking, all with their own mysterious agenda!
- They're signing and saying more and more words. Veronica signs "food" all the time. Today she learned "book" and sometimes she signs "sleep" when she's tired. Both sign "more," "milk," "eat," and "ball."

i love the walking, too. some people told me it would be harder, but i'm just so happy for them!
ReplyDeletehow do you get them to keep their things on the table??? as soon as mine are done with something, down it goes, and it really pisses me off! all meal long, i coach them "when you're done with it, put it on the table, or give it to mama..." doesn't work!
