Often when I give the babies baths (like today) I remember one particular bathtime that was sweet and touching. I remember it fondly... the babies were probably about 3 or 4 months old...
I had given Jackson a bath and daddy was giving Veronica a bath (in the kitchen sink, of course). I had gotten Jackson in his jammies and we were sitting on the kitchen floor keeping daddy and Veronica company. It was bedtime so I decided to rock and sing to see if Jackson would fall asleep. I sang the Mockingbird song (Hush, little baby, don't say a word, momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird...) and of course I didn't know all the words so I just filled in each time with something that rhymed. (I bet most parents have done this at some time!) So I sang and rocked with my sweet boy in my arms while daddy was a few feet away giving our sweet girl a bath... And it was so lovely. I hadn't looked down at Jackson for a while and when I did, he was sleeping peacefully.
It was a special moment...
