"Whine it out?"

I never thought I'd be able to let the babies "cry it out." That's when you let the baby just cry and cry in their crib alone until they fall asleep. Well, after the last two nights of Jackson whining for 1-2 hours with nothing consoling him, we didn't know what else to do! He wasn't crying, he was just yelling. No tears. So tonight we decided to let him go for a while and see what happened. I went out to run an errand. When I got back, Jackson was asleep. Dick said Jackson finally woke Veronica up so he went in the babies' room. He found Jackson standing up in his crib. He laid him down, soothed Veronica and then left. Jackson only whined a short while more and then he stopped.

So, I guess "whine it out" works ok. I hope it gets better every night. It's supposed to.

On a really happy note, somehow, over the past few months, Jackson weaned himself off his binky. It's great that we won't have a big struggle with him later. But it might be preventing him from falling asleep. He won't take it at all! Veronica still loves her binky tho. She likes it day and night!
